A Fishing Story

If you have done much fishing in your life, you know that there are two different ways to hook a fish.  If the fish gets hooked in the cheek, it's very possible that the fish could jump or twist to pop the hook out of its mouth.  If the fish swallows the hook, chances are no matter what the fish does, it's probably not going to get off the hook unless it breaks the fish line.

Christians are the same way.  If they have been hooked, but haven't swallowed the hook, they may still be able to throw the hook and escape.  If they have swallowed the hook, the chances of escape are very slim.  Not to say that it is impossible; the line could still break and the Christian could get away.  If a Christian has been indoctrinated since childhood, it is going to be hard for them to get off of the hook.  For one reason, they may never doubt what they have been taught for years by the people of authority around them.  They may never question what the Bible says nor consider any other point of view outside of the Bible and other Christian readings.  Unless they get introduced to evolution in a biology class or watch some YouTube videos from some Biblical Historians that are not Christians, they are likely not going to think differently.  They will probably continue to live in their world of Christian superstition, unlikely to ever come back to the world of reality!
