As a young Christian you were taught to believe that baby Jesus was born of a young virgin mother named Mary.  The father of the child was the Almighty Christian God himself from up in Heaven.  This was not from physical intercourse with Mary but being impregnated by the Holy Spirit of God.  There are many earlier stories throughout history that claim to have had virgin births from other ancient gods from much older ancient religions.  The similarities though are amazing!   In real life we know from our modern knowledge of human reproduction that it is impossible for a virgin woman to conceive and give birth to a child naturally.  It is possible today for reproduction to be done through artificial insemination, but certainly not by a spirit, even if the spirit is that of a god!
