The Gospels

The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament Bible.  Often referred to as the Good News, they are the basis for the Christian religion. Who actually wrote them?  Biblical historians don't believe they were actually written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These were just names given to the writings to make them appear more historical.  Bible historians believe the first gospel was actually the book of Mark and that Matthew used the book of Mark to add more to the story.  Luke then used Mark and Matthew in writing his book.  You might ask yourself, are the gospels historically accurate, or are they just stories created by religious writers to persuade people to believe in their messiah and accept the Christian religion?  How much have the gospels been altered from the original Hebrew and Greek.  Have they been changed over the years to say just what the church wants them to say?
